Business leaders in Suffolk have backed the national Chamber of Commerce’s call to focus the upcoming Budget on youth unemployment, training and enterprise.

John Dugmore, chief executive at Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, said investing in young people was ‘crucial to securing future growth and avoiding a lost generation’.

He added: “There are challenges with young people having the rights skills for the workplace which is why we have seen persistent youth unemployment that must be addressed.”

The Chancellor will announce his Budget to Parliament on Wednesday March 20.
