A NEW logo to celebrate 100 years of the UK sugar beet industry has been unveiled.
The logo, launched by British Sugar with the National Farmers Union, depicts the sugar beet with the legend ‘Strong roots, Sustainable future’.
William Martin, chairman of the NFU Sugar Board, said: “One hundred years of sugar beet processing is a great achievement by the whole UK beet sugar industry. The industry continues to evolve and we look forward to supplying sugar beet for the next 100 years.”
The Bury St Edmunds sugar beet factory is one of four in the UK which annually process 7.5 million tonnes of beet from 4,000 British growers.
