'Marketing could save your business'

Times may be tough but your business marketing costs need not be expensive - and it may be the one thing that saves you.

That is the message from a new marketing, events and public relations business that has been set up in Bury Edmunds.

Sarah Stamp says that with many firms cutting their workforce and their marketing budgets, she is targeting a gap left by the recession.

"Having worked both in-house and agency side over the past 16 years, I have built up a wealth of experience of working with a variety of organisations from manufacturers, individuals and one man band start up companies to local authorities and charities," she said.

"Over this time, I have learnt what really works, how to get people talking about your cause or business.

"I know that raising your profile and generating new business are most people objectives, and meeting these doesn't need to cost the earth.

"You just need to think creatively and work hard."

She is aiming to offer a flexible service which can work with companies either on one off campaigns or on a more regular basis, while avoiding the costly alternative of employing somebody full-time.

"When trading conditions are hard as they have been, the natural instinct is to trim back on marketing spend, when in fact, careful targeting of a well thought out message can be the very thing that secures your company's future," said Sarah.

She is already working with Bury based drink and drugs charity Focus12 on their PR and fund-raising events, as well as helping a number of manufacturing companies in the South East to develop their marketing strategies.
