Lyndsey hopes customers will stay for a yarn

A knitting fan has set up a new wool shop on Angel Hill, in Bury St Edmunds, as a place for fellow devotees to come and chat.

Lyndsey Hurrell, 31, opened Wibbling Wools last week as a sociable shop where customers can sit, browse patterns and talk.

Miss Hurrell said: "Knitting is getting really big again, it is really taking off.

"People can just sit down, bring their knitting and have a drink."

Stocking organic, natural and hand-dyed yarns, including brands such as Rowan, Debbie Bliss, Sirdar and Sublime wools, the shop aims to fill the gap left when wool and needlecraft shop, Jaycraft closed in February, 2006.

Miss Hurrell will also run knitting and crochet workshops for all abilities, as well as children's classes and tapestry sessions.

She said: "There is a real regeneration happening on Angel Hill and this side of town.

"Hopefully, there will be a huge demand for these wools in Bury."
