Coach operator in Stowmarket makes £240,000 upgrade to its fleet

Stowmarket coach operator Galloway Travel Group has upgraded its 50-strong fleet with the purchase of a £240,000 vehicle, financed by Clydesdale Bank.

The new 53-seater Volvo will be used for specialist educational trips for schools across the UK.

Galloway’s Educational Study Division include trips to the First World War battlefields, the Normandy beaches and European capital cities, as well as UK excursions.

It has been awarded the Quality Badge by the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom.

David Cattermole, Managing Director of Galloway Travel Group, said: “We were pleased to receive the support of Clydesdale Bank to introduce this modern coach, equipped with 53 seats and on-board toilet, to satisfy the increasing demand for larger groups.”

Richard Chapman, Head of Clydesdale Bank’s East Anglia Business and Private Banking Centre, said: “Galloway Travel Group is a highly respected brand, both locally and within the UK transport sector, and we have provided funding for a number of vehicles in its fleet.

“This latest arrangement includes the option for funding a further coach in the next few months, as we understand it is vital that operators such as Galloway have the most modern fleet possible.

“We have adopted a flexible approach to our relationship with Galloway so that the company can update its fleet as and when necessary.”
