Busy start to life at new farm shop

IT only officially opened in July but Depden Farm Shop and Training is already hosting a number of events and expanding its opening times.
A pigs for sausage lovers one-day course looks at small-scale pig keeping and animal welfare, as well as a chance to make your own sausages.
Family events coming up include pumpkin carving and a gingerbread house workshop, while there is also a wine and cheese tasting evening and a vines and viticulture half-day course.
Meanwhile, the café and shop have been so busy that the owners have now decided to open on Wednesdays as well.
Co-owner Tim Freathy said he was pleased with how well things had gone since the launch.
“It is really rewarding to see so many people genuinely interested in good honest food that doesn’t cost the earth,” he said.
The shop and café is now open Wednesday to Saturdays from 9.30am to 5pm and on Sundays from 10am to 4pm. All details of the courses are available at www.depden.com/training
