BARKER Storey Matthews has appointed Julian Welch, pictured, to its commercial property team.

Mr Welch was formerly a director and national head of retail at property consultants Lambert Smith Hampton.

Chartered surveyors Barker Storey Matthews say the ‘key’ appointment forms part of its plans for future growth.

“Whilst we are working in a challenging economic environment at present, I believe the Mid Anglia region has a very promising future and that Barker Storey Matthews is exceptionally well placed to provide the very best commercial property advice to that market. I am looking forward to the challenges and opportunities ahead,” Mr Welch said.

The firm has offices in Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge, Huntingdon and Peterborough.
