A Bury St Edmunds school is steering the way for professional development and support in science teaching after being chosen to spearhead a new initiative.
County Upper is the lead school for the Science Learning Partnership in Suffolk and Norfolk to help teachers and technicians through courses and school to school support.
The school, in Beeton’s Way, will work with West Suffolk College and Wymondham College, in Norfolk.
The scheme is funded by the Department for Education and The Wellcome Trust.
County Upper is part of the Bury Academy Trust, which was made a Teaching School Alliance earlier this year to lead the training and professional development of teachers.
Head Vicky Neale said: “We’re proud to have been chosen out of all the schools across the two counties and particularly that our all-through system has received more national recognition.”
