Pupils at Tollgate Primary showcased their green credentials with the launch of a community garden and plastic bottle greenhouse.
The new area at the Bury St Edmunds school includes a vegetable plot, flower garden, a path to allow access in winter, retaining fence and plastic bottle gate,
It follows the childrens’ studies on habitats, the environment and recycling. They embarked on a successful letter writing campaign to parents, companies and organisations to secure the required materials. The garden will form part of the science curriculum, allow the school to grow produce to sell and raise funds for other projects.
