The Mayor of St Edmundsbury, Cllr Julia Wakelam will have the honour of turning on The Old Cannon Brewery’s Christmas lights on Tuesday.

Hannah Clark, owner of the Old Cannon Brewery, in Cannon Street, said: “Christmas is the time of year everyone wants to help out and volunteer for charities because it’s a time of goodwill but we’d like to thank the people who have been volunteering and helping the Gatehouse charity all throughout the year.

“So we’re inviting those who volunteer for the charity, including Whitestuff and LP’s staff, and many others who support the Gatehouse like we do to share some Christmas cheer and a homemade mince pie, and as Julia is the chair of the Gatehouse, we thought it was only fitting she turn on our Christmas lights.”

Her husband, Gary added: “It’s an opportunity to meet everyone who has given their time to help the Gatehouse and we’d love to see many people who would like to support the Gatehouse in the future as well as our locals and not so local community. Everyone is welcome to see the lights.”
