Specsavers, in Bury St Edmunds, collected more than 150 books during a book amnesty which will be donated to East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices and St Nicholas Hospice Care.

Marc Mitchell, store director, said: “Reading is a great way for us to escape into other worlds. When someone is affected by a long-term serious illness, picking up a good book can sometimes provide a few moments of welcome relief. We’re delighted to be able to support this worthy cause.”
