Staff at Abbeycroft Leisure Centre in Bury St Edmunds are indulging in seven days of silliness this week to raise money for St Nicholas Hospice Care.
From August 25 to 31 staff at the centre on Beetons Way are participating in fundraising activites including a fancy dress competition and a Mary Berry-inspired bake-off.
There will be sponsored spinathon for class members and staff on August 31 and and a summer pool party with music and games on August 30.
Gym customers have also been able to nominate their favourite fitness instructor to be gunged in exchange for donations.
Acting centre manager Clare Maller said: “It really will be seven days of silliness. This is probably our most adventurous fundraiser yet for the hospice.
“I want to thank all the staff who are taking part.”
In 2011 the centre’s team won the hospice’s teamwork award for holding a range of fundraisers over a three-month period including a fancy dress marathon and a pirate-themed poolside raft build.
