A Bury St Edmunds-based healthcare business was thrust into the limelight last month by retail tycoon and former Dragon’s Den star Theo Paphitis.

Lorraine Clarke, owner of ClarkeCare in Nowton Road, was named a winner in Theo’s weekly online Small Business Sunday (SBS) campaign and this month she met him, along with fellow Dragon Deborah Meadow, at an annual #SBS networking event.

She said: “It was an inspiring day listening to Theo and Deborah Meaden giving us some insight into how they support small businesses across the country.

“We had a chance to describe to him our business and our recent success of an ‘outstanding’ rating following our Care Quality Commission inspection.

“He spoke briefly about the challenges facing the care industry and the opportunity to a care provider offering a top quality service.”
