A pioneering Bury St Edmunds estate agent is turning its hand to different kinds of pictures by hanging a local artist’s work.
Whatley Lane estate agency in Churchgate Street is promoting an artist in residence, Kim Whittingham, a former book illustrator whose subject matter is Bury landmark buildings.
Branch manager James Sawyer said: “Helping to promote Kim was an obvious choice for us. Having read History of Art, Kim’s work immediately struck a chord. Moreover, our office is a former art gallery.
“I truly believe this is a first in estate agency.”
Ms Whittingham, who also contributes to the Handmade Shop and Gallery in St John’s Street, said: “I thought it would be a good opportunity to combine my artwork with something different. It is very nice to have James’ enthusiasm for my work.”
