Burst pipes get review

A WATER company will review the effectiveness of its equipment after a series of burst pipes left a village in West Suffolk without water during December last year.

Ciaran Nelson, a spokesman for Anglian Water, said: “Great Barton did suffer with several bursts to a water main during the exceptionally cold weather that we all recently experienced and some people were left without a water supply for a short time while these bursts were isolated and repaired - we’re really sorry for that. This was the toughest start to winter that we’ve ever experienced and we repaired almost 3,000 bursts across the Anglian Water region in December alone.”

He added: “It’s natural that after a series of bursts like this we will review our equipment in the area.”
