Burglary at Mendlesham post office

Police are appealing for information following a burglary of a post office in Mendlesham on Sunday.

Offenders broke into the post office, in Old Market Street, at around 3.40am on Sunday July 7.

They made an untidy search and attempted to break into the safe causing the alarm to sound, and them to flee the scene.

A computer tower and a small amount of cash from a charity container was stolen.

Police would like to speak to two men seen acting suspiciously near the post office on Saturday July 6.

The first is described as a white man, mid-twenties to early thirties in age, approximately 5’9” tall, dark coloured short spiked hair, was of a muscular slim build and was wearing a t-shirt and jeans.

The second is described as a white man, larger than the other male, mid-twenties to early thirties in age, 5’7” to 5’8” tall with blonde wavy hair and was wearing a white t-shirt and light coloured cargo style shorts.
