A WIDOWER has gone a long way to repay a hospice for its help.

In fact, Brian Harris, from Lakenheath, has gone 26 miles for St Nicholas Hospice Care as he walked the route of the London marathon.

Brian wanted to help the hospice after it helped his wife, Christine, through the last two weeks of her life in October.

The walk took place on Christine’s birthday, February 29, which the family always treats as a special day.

He said: “Chris only had a birthday every four years so we made the most of it.

“We grew up in London and the walk took me past where we used to live and the church we got married in.”

Brian, 68, was supported all the way by family members.

He has raised more than £1,000 so far. Anyone who wants to donate more should contact St Nicholas Hospice Care.
