THE trial of a man accused of making a bomb hoax in Bury St Edmunds has been put back until the new year.
Steven Cook, 35, of Devon Close, in Bury, had been due to go on trial at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’Court on Wednesday this week.
But the trial was put off at the last minute for the prosecution and defence to review evidence.
Cook is accused of making a bomb hoax at Debenhams in the arc, in June.
The store was evacuated and nearby shops temporarily closed after reports of a bag containing an explosive device. The bag was searched but nothing suspicious was found.
Cook has denied the charge and is now due to stand trial at Bury magistrates court on January 7.
