A FAMILY who were left homeless after a fire tore through their house have put out an appeal for help in starting a new life.
The Wall family’s home in St John’s Way, Thetford, was devastated by fire last Wednesday.
Having stayed at a friend’s for the last week - with six people crammed into a two-bedroom house - they are now asking for people to donate bedding for Aaron, 12, who suffers from ADHD, and Danielle, 14.
Dad Gary said the family were appreciative of the help they had received so far but needed more to start a new home.
“We’ve been rehoused by a letting agency now but we badly need bedding for the kids.
“Me and my wife can sleep on the floor, but we need stuff for them - anything will help,” he said.
The family have been staying with Mandy Alden, her 17-year-old daughter, Sophie, and their three dogs while a new home was being found.
Ms Alden said: “It’s been a bit packed here but we’ve managed.
“They’ve been very upset since the fire. They lost so much - all their baby pictures are gone and the upstairs is wrecked.”
Mr Wall said a chest of drawers, wardrobe and any sort of bedding would be welcomed by the family.
He added: “We’ve been searching for the right people that can help us but it’s difficult to know who to turn to.”
Anyone who can help should contact Gary Wall on 07580 063330.
