AMERICAN rock band Black Stone Cherry have been announced as special guests of The Darkness at their homecoming concert in Thetford this summer.

The Kentucky band are regulars in the US and UK rock charts, with their third album - Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea - scoring them their second No 1 album in the UK rock charts, where it has remained for more than 40 weeks.

They will be joining local heroes, The Darkness, who exploded into the public consciousness with their unique brand of glammed-up rock and outrageous stage costumes when their debut album Permission to Land shot to number one, spawning new rock anthems including Love is only a Feeling, I Believe In A Thing Called Love and Growing on Me.

The band, made up of brothers Justin and Dan Hawkins, Frankie Poullain and Ed Graham, have recently released the single Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us from their forthcoming third album and have been confirmed as main support for the European dates of Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Ball tour.

The two popular rock bands will perform in Thetford Forest on July 14.

Tickets costing £36.00, subject to booking fee, are available from the Forestry Commission box office by calling 03000 680400 or online at www.forestry.gov.uk/music
