Students past and present received an array of certificates and prizes at St Benedict’s Catholic School’s annual presentation evening.

Bishop Alan Hopes was on hand to give out the A-level and GCSE certificates at the Bury St Edmunds school as well as tutor and subject prizes and a number of outstanding achievement awards.

Headteacher Hugh O’Neill spoke to the audience about the ‘wonderful achievements’ of the individuals collecting their awards.

Bishop Alan then talked about the choices they could make in their lives and urged them to follow the example set by others such as Mother Teresa and Pope Francis.

A musical interlude was provided by Eoin Funnell (voice) and Michael Sharpe (guitar), who presented songs by John Dowland and Leonard Bernstein.
