The Mayor of St Edmundsbury enjoyed a nail treatment after beauty therapy students descended on a council’s headquarters.

The West Suffolk College students gave treatments to St Edmundsbury Borough Council staff at West Suffolk House to raise more than £100 for the Mayor Tim Marks’ charities.

The money will be divided between St Nicholas Hospice Care and REACH Community Projects Haverhill.

Lecturer Helen Moye said: “The event was a great success, giving the students a chance to work in the community.

“They were able to meet council staff and promote our In Vogue salon services to them. They even cajoled the Mayor into having a quick nail treatment.

“I’m proud of how hard they worked and the feedback they received was excellent.”
