Battlefield brought alive for students

Students at Mildenhall College Academy took up their muskets to re-enact the battle of Waterloo on Wednesday.

The 33rd Regiment of Foot re-enactment society visited the school’s Sheldrick Way site and taught students from years seven, eight, nine and 10 about the life of a soldier and the time of the Battle of Waterloo.

The workshop took place in advance of a trip to Waterloo next week, following which the school hopes to enter into a project with a school in France and possibly other nations involved in the events of June 1815.
