Children at Barrow School are getting arty this month in a new creative project based around the school’s Christian ethos.

The pupils and their teachers are creating a large-scale cross to display at the school’s entrance, with the help of local artist and teacher Victoria Bush.

Children from Years one to four will each contribute a square of felt, which will all be put together to make the final symbol.

Parents and governors have been encouraged to help in the workshops, held on September 17 and 24.

A spokesperson for the school said: “We believe this exciting new art project will provide us with an important visual symbol which will reflect our core values and principles for many years to come.”
