STAFF at Greene King are putting the final touches to plans for a charity ball, which will kick-start May’s Bury St Edmunds Festival.

Last year’s ball raised £12,000 for charity and this year it is hoped that guests will be as generous. All of the proceeds will go to drug and alcohol rehabilitation charity Focus 12.

Ball-goers will be greeted by reception drinks and canapes before sitting down to a three course meal and complimentary bottles of wine.

There will be a charity raffle, an auction and entertainment by Captain Scarlet, a band that proved popular last year.

It will take place from 7pm until midnight on May 19, in Greene King’s Westgate Brewery gardens. Tickets cost £46 each or £415 for a table of 10.

There are just nine tables left. To book, contact the Greene King visitor centre on 01284 714297.
