Awards mark 1,725 years’ service

STAFF who have worked at West Suffolk Hospital for a combined total of 1,725 years have been presented with long service awards.

Some 67 workers, including housekeepers, midwives, nurses, administrators, consultants and occupational therapists have been presented with certificates celebrating their long careers.

Of those, 22 were given 20-year awards, 19 were honoured for 25 years’ service and 20 were recognised for 30 years at the Bury St Edmunds hospital.

The other six people to receive awards have enjoyed careers at the hospital spanning 35 years.

Jan Bloomfield, executive director of workforce and communications at West Suffolk, said: “We were delighted to be able to present so many long service awards this year and would like to congratulate all of those who received recognition on their achievement.”

She added: “We are extremely proud to have such loyal and dependable people working at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.

“They have shown enormous dedication to the hospital and our patients throughout their careers.

“We are really grateful for their hard work and commitment.”
