The Elveden Inn at Elveden and the Swan Hotel at Lavenham have both picked up awards at this year’s AA Hospitality Awards.
Elveden was named Pub of the Year England while The Swan received the ‘Inspector’s Choice’ Four Red Star status for its hospitality.
The Elveden Inn on the Elveden Estate owned by the Guinness family re-opened in November 2011 after a complete refurbishment and already holds an AA five star rating and AA Dining Award.
Lord Iveagh, head of the Guinness family, said: “To be judged best of breed AA Pub of the Year is an exceptional accolade. The team at the Elveden Inn works very hard every day to ensure our customers love their experience with us. I am delighted and proud of the team for achieving these exceptionally high standards.”
The award is given to pubs or inns which combine the provision of enjoyable food, a great pub atmosphere and a warm welcome with a high standard of management.
The prestigious ‘Inspectors’ Choice’ accolade went to The Swan Hotel as one which stands out as being the very best in their star rating.
It follows the hotel’s Gold Award in the Large Hotel of the Year category at the Visit England Awards for Excellence 2013; the Swan also has two AA rosettes for its outstanding cuisine.
General Manager Ingo Wiangke said; “This wonderful accolade is a glowing testament to our team’s hard work, dedication and passion to providing only the very best customer service.”
