The work of The National Stud’s artist in residence will be displayed in a pop up gallery from Saturday.
Works by Chris Winch will be on show at the 3B Pop Up Gallery at The Three Blackbirds in Woodditton.
The canvases and watercolours on show will include paintings executed at The National Stud as well as recent works in which Chris utilises abstract forms.
In these works he uses impressed objects and printing techniques to form exciting abstract and textured backgrounds to wildlife and equestrian subject matter.
Chris said: “I love the textures and colours of the natural world and try to include organic and earthy materials in my work.
“Once the background has been established I include equestrian and wildlife subject matter so the paintings work both as abstract and representational pieces.
“I’m now Artist in Residence at the National Stud where I can study the grace and power of the thoroughbred, and the species of wildlife that relish the open spaces.
“During the season, visitors can watch me work and chat about the processes involved in creating a painting.”
Land and seascapes by Chris will also be on show.
