Arrest follows burglary at Bury St Edmunds cycle shop

A man has been arrested following a burglary in Bury St Edmunds.

A cycle shop on St John’s Street, Bury, was broken into early yesterday morning and a quantity of stock was stolen.

At 2.55pm yesterday, police were informed of three bicycles abandoned in woodland off The Street, in Great Livermere. These bikes were recovered.

Then, at 8pm, police received reports of suspicious vehicles in Ampton. Officers went to the village and found an unattended car.

A short time later, police arrested a 40-year-old man from the Diss area on suspicion of theft and burglary. He has been taken to Bury Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

The investigation into the burglary is ongoing. As part of the investigation, officers searched a property in Blo Norton overnight and seized a number of bicycles and frames.
