Arrest after rave fire

A 25-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested in connection with the organisation of an illegal rave which saw a barn damaged by fire.

Around 200 revellers and 70 vehicles were found at a farm in between Barton Mills and Tuddenham in the early hours of June 12.

When police arrived, they found that straw bales in a barn had caught fire. Fire crews dealt with the blaze for more than eight hours.

Police officers dispersed the crowds - with some of the trespassers becoming confrontational.

The man, from Wisbech, has also been arrested on suspicion of affray. He has been released on police bail to attend the Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre on August 8.
