A caravan park accessed via Eriswell Road has gained approval despite parish councillors’ fears the road will become a ‘death trap’.
A planning application for Jeagor Farm, in Holywell Row, sought retrospective permission for recreational fishing facilities and proposed a 15 pitch caravan site.
Beck Row, Holywell Row and Kenny Hill Parish Council approved the scheme but objected to the proposed access point.
In a written objection they said the it would create ‘a death trap’.
Speaking to Forest Heath District Council’s planning committee, parish Cllr Alan Vickerage said the road’s surface, speed and the quantity of traffic combined with caravans coming to the site for the first time would be a ‘recipe for disaster’.
The Highways Authority said that additional measures submitted by the applicant would ensure no harm to vehicle safety.
