Residents are being urged to return their unused NHS equipment this month.
The NHS and Suffolk County Council are appealing for equipment such as crutches, alternating air mattresses and wheeled adjustable frames to be returned during the month long NHS amnesty .
Last year health services issued more than 100,000 NHS community equipment items to Suffolk patients at a cost of more than £8.5 million. By the end of the year nearly 40,000 items, costing £3.4 million, had not been returned to the contractor Medequip.
Equipment can be returned to Medequip’s Bury depot at Unit 3 Bunting Road. Medequip can also collect items for free. Call 01473 351805.
