Appeal after pensioner on mobility scooter is assaulted in Thetford

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted as he went to collect his grandson from school in Thetford.

The incident happened on Monday, March 2 at about 2.30pm when the victim, a man in his 70s, was riding his mobility scooter near the sports centre in Croxton Road.

The victim was approached by another man, aged in his 50s, who grabbed his arms. Following a short struggle the victim managed to reach for his walking stick to fend off his attacker. He suffered bruising and his glasses were also broke during the attack.

Passing members of the public, including a man and woman, also stopped at the scene and police are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
