AN ALLOTMENT association could be set to splash up to £12,000 on new equipment after council funding came through.
Barton Mills Parish Council has had an application for the money approved by Forest Heath District Council.
That paves the way for the village’s allotment association to buy a much-needed water pump and silencer, as well as pay for further improvements including a secure shed, fencing and a polytunnel.
James Bercovici, parish council clerk, said: “The allotment is very much developing and the parish council wanted to try to raise some cash to help the association.”
The allotment, which is just off Bell Lane, will be funded by Section 106 money from the sale of the old dairy site.
