A TOP chef and a gift wrapping guru have shown off their skills to help raise £6,000 for a hospice.
Fifty guests attended the September Special day at Croxton Coach House, near Thetford, on September 15 to raise money for St Nicholas Hospice Care.
The event saw demonstrations from chef Fred Pontais and gift wrapper Jane Means.
The event was organised by Mandy Rush and her friend Nicky Wood.
Mandy’s cousin, Suzie, who suffers from Motor Neurone Disease, has already driven from John O’Groats to Land’s End in 2008 on a quad bike for the charity.
Suzie said: “The hospice is a charity which is very dear to me, as it has helped and supported us as a family for a number of years. I hope you will never need the hospice – but if you do it will be there.”
The Rush family’s friends and relations made were at the event to make donations, helping to boost the total to £6,000.
Sue Long, community fund-raiser for St Nicholas Hospice Care, said: “Special thanks must go to Mandy Rush and Melinda Raker for organising such a wonderful event, which was enjoyed by all who attended.”
