A group of airmen from RAF Honington took on gruelling 10 hour treadmill challenges in Bury St Edmunds.

At the arc shopping centre, Flt Lt Mark Jacklin and Sgt Phil Bower ran on two treadmills for 10 hours while Sgt Goodman, SAC Watkins, SAC Cornwall, SAC Liggett and LAC Craddock conducted a 10 hour relay tab on a treadmill with full kit and backpacks containing 35lbs of weight. They are from 2623 RAuxAD Squadron RAF Honington and were raising funds for St Nicholas Hospice Care.

Flt lt Jacklin said they would also be undertaking individual challenges later in the summer including five-mile Land Rover pulls and endurance triathlons when they hope to run, swim or cycle 2,623 km.

Jenny Baskett, hospice care events and challenges fund-raiser, said: “All the money they raise will help the hospice to make living with dying better for people facing long-term and life-threatening illnesses. It really will make a difference.”
