A supermarket has handed funds raised over the course of 12 months to its chosen charity of the year.

On Tuesday, staff from Sainsbury’s, on Moreton Hall, Bury St Edmunds, delivered a cheque for £2,500 to Age UK Suffolk, which works with and for senior citizens in the county.

Its services include running two day centres – Oasis and Links – at Saxon House, on Moreton Hall.

Day services manager Jan Goddard said: “The money will come in very handy for a number of things. It will improve the environment for members and it will improve their experience of the day centre by making their day more enjoyable.”
