Accolades given to adult learners

INSPIRATIONAL stories and outstanding achievements were recognised at an awards ceremony for adult learners.

Ten accolades were handed out at the Suffolk Adult Learner Awards, at University Campus Suffolk, last Thursday, in categories such as tutor of the year, inspirational learner of the year, learning at work and digital technology learner of the year.

Several West Suffolk residents were named runners-up, including Gillian Chandler for the 65 and over learner of the year, Ladders2Success for the Learning Project of the Year, Linda and Sophie Goodswin for outstanding family learner of the year and Roy Croucher for volunteer of the year.

The ceremony, in Ipswich, was organised by education organisation Leap and the Suffolk Partnership for Informal Adult Learning.
