TWO restaurants have taken top spots in Suffolk for the best dining experience in an online customer vote.
The Great House, in Lavenham, was came top for dining in the TripAdvisor poll, with the Stowlangtoft Dark Horse coming second.
The award was a welcome boost for new owner of the Dark Horse, Justine Bone, who only took over the business in November.
He said: “This is quite an accomplishment considering I have only owned the restaurant since last November. In these difficult economic conditions we are very proud to be fully booked nearly every weekend.”
Mr Bone said that head chef Chris Rowell sourced food locally, with meat coming from Woolpit and apple juice from Maynards in Cockfield.
“There has been a lot of hard work along the way. We want to carry on offering customers great food and service,” he said.
Regis Crepy, who has owned the Great House for 26 years, has previously won the East of England Good Food Guide award.
He said: “I am always extremely pleased when we win any award or recognition, it makes the whole team happy. We are well placed against other Suffolk restaurants because we offer great value for money. Our team is a big part of our success, management, kitchen service, front of house, everyone.”
