A STANNINGFIELD man is facing a battle after a council decided to serve an enforcement notice to stop him living in a caravan.
David Wright and his family live in a caravan at a site owned by borough councillor Terry Clements which is rented to David Wright, who runs a portable cabin storage, hire and refurbishment business.

Mr Wright said: "We are going to appeal.

"We have probably got more than 100 portable cabins. A lot of them are residential, they are mobile homes, and right at the back is our caravan, so it is impossible to see it. We can't be seen or heard."

St Edmundsbury Borough Council's development control committee decided on Thursday to serve the notice after it refused permission for the continued siting of a caravan for residential and office use.

Neighbours complained of noise and disruption, while Bradfield with Combust and Stanningfield Parish Council also objected.

Cllr Clements said he had nothing to do with the business.
