Two women who have quad biked 874 miles for St Nicholas' Hospice have completed their marathon journey, but its ending was tinged with sadness.
Suzie Rush, 43, from Bradfield St George, has Motor Neurone Disease but she did not let that hamper her journey on a quad bike from John O'Groats to Land's End.
She and friend Debbie Turpin decided to undertake the ride to raise money for the hospice which has cared for Suxie's older sister Rosie, who also has MND.
Sadly, on Saturday, after the two women reached Land's End Rosie died at her home, but had learned her sister's endeavour was successful.
Suzie and Debbie set off on October 18 and spent a week riding quad bikes the length of the country. During the journey friends and hospice supporters helped Suzie by riding part of the way.
It is hoped the ride will have raised between £20,000 and £25,000.
