A BURY St Edmunds woman, who threatened to kill her husband after a row over their Sky TV box, has appeared at Bury Magistrates' Court.
On Thursday, Sheila Angela Simmons, 57, of Bevis Walk, appeared before magistrates, where she admitted threatening to kill her husband.

Ian Devine, prosecuting, told the court Simmons argued with her husband about their Sky television box at their home on the night of April 21.

The pair had been drinking and the argument became violent, so Simmons called the police for help, who arrived at 12.15am.

The court heard Simmons the went into the kitchen, picked up a 15cm knife and pointed it at her husband and threatened to kill him.

Kevin Dumphrey, in mitigation, said Simmons was a victim of domestic abuse and threatened her husband as a cry for help.

Presiding magistrate, Barry Ellis, adjourned the case until June 3 for probation reports to be compiled.
