CUPOLA House is open for business and first indications are that the bar and restaurant will be a success, say managers.
The 17th Century, Grade I listed building in the heart of Bury St Edmunds, has undergone a near £1 million, one-year long conversion under the new owners.
Cipta, the company responsible, opened the doors on Tuesday afternoon and, after a few technical problems with the tills, the day went very well.
"We are delighted with the look and feel of the place and the customers last night seemed to agree," said co-owner Paul Romaine
"One man stayed for six hours and said he would bring business contacts visiting Bury here as it had such a great atmosphere."
The Cupola has a bar menu, a restaurant menu, a vegetarian menu and a breakfast menu.
To reserve a table, call 01284 765808.
