Beefy Botham will be strolling into the region in October as part of his latest fund-raising effort for Leukaemia Research.
Cricket legend Sir Ian Botham, who has raised millions of pounds for the charity, will be taking in the grounds of Ickworth House for one leg of a sponsored walk which will take him from Taunton, in Somerset, to Durham, in County Durham.

And for the first time ever, people are invited to join Beefy in his seven-mile jaunt around the park's stunning woodlands on October 13 in exchange for sponsorhip.

Sir Ian said: "In 1985, when I first started walking to raise funds for Leukaemia Research, the survival rate for children with leukaemia was 20 per cent, now the survival rate is 80 per cent. Join me on my 2008 walk and together we will beat this terrible disease."

To take part, contact Botham walk manager Georgina Fitt on 020 7269 9003, or email gfitt@lrf.org.uk
