Driver killed in A11 crash is named

A driver, who was killed in a car crash on the A11 yesterday, has been named by police.
Mehmet Tekagac, 26, of White Hart Street, Thetford, died following a collision between his red Nissan Micra and a black Landrover Freelander.

The road accident took place near the Elveden war memorial at about 3.20am.

Mr Tekagac was pronounced dead at the scene. The male driver of the Freelander was taken to West Suffolk Hospital, in Bury, with minor injuries.

The A11 was closed immediately after the crash to allow collision investigators to examine the scene. It did not re-open until 12.30pm.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash to come forward.
