AFTER raising more than £120,000 over 35 years, a charity committee is holding one last fund-raising bash.

The Mildenhall Branch of Action Medical Research is putting on a supper dance at the Jubilee Centre on April 21 with the 20-piece Galaxy Big Band and a two-course supper.

The branch decided to call it a day after the committee could not replace departed members and those left reached retirement age.

Carolyn Child, committee member, said: “Our fund-raising efforts are not to be sniffed at and in 35 years we have raised money which has been used to amazing effect by funding many research projects, benefiting a huge proportion of people.”

Tickets for the fund-raiser are £20 and are available from Barley corn in Market Place and Oasis Beauty in Mill Street.
