Danny Laws has moved swiftly to reinforce his wounded Needham Market FC squad following FA Vase semi-final heartbreak at the weekend.
Dan Pilcher and Joby Thorogood have joined the Bloomfields-based club this week, with both expected to play strong roles in the club's action-packed run-in.

The Reds, who fell agonisingly short of a Wembley final after a 1-0 defeat – 4-2 on aggregate – at the hands of Kirkham & Wesham on Saturday, must now turn their attention to sealing the treble.

With Suffolk Premier Cup and League Cup finals on April 22 and May 5 respectively, Needham also have to cram in 10 Ridgeons League Premier Division fixtures in the final month of the season – starting with three successive home matches in the next six days.

Tomorrow, the Reds host King's Lynn Reserves (ko 3pm), before Walsham-le-Willows and fellow championship hopefuls Wroxham are the visitors on Tuesday and Thursday respectively (both ko 7.45pm ).

Team chief Laws said, "There are a number of players who are devastated following our cup exit. This can be extremely draining for players and as a result I felt the need to freshen the squad.

"We have a backlog of fixtures but we knew that was going to happen and that cannot be used as an excuse."

Full-back Pilcher, 24, joined from crisis club Haverhill Rovers after making 169 appearances and scoring eight goals for the Hamlet Croft-based outfit.

Pacey 22-year-old striker Thorogood – brother of midfielder Jonathon – signed from Ryman League Division One South side Ashford Town.

The title is still in Needham's hands. Sitting third in the table, the Reds are 13 points adrift of league-leaders Soham Town Rangers, but with a crucial six games in hand.
