Runners are being urged to take part in this year's Magna Carta Relay, from the Abbey Gardens, in Bury St Edmunds, on Sunday, June 8.
Teams of six runners will cover laps of 1.8 miles to raise money for Clic Sargent, which supports children with cancer and their families.

The event, which is part of the St Edmund's Wheel event, is open to all ages, clubs, pubs, places of work and schools.

There is a prize for winning teams from middle and upper schools.

Teams enter by paying a donation of £30, which goes to Clic Sargent, and each runner or team can obtain sponsorship, which will also support the charity. Each runner will receive refreshments, a medal and T-shirt sponsored by Northgate Volkswagwen and Waitrose.

Organisers are keen to encourage more people to take part in the relay race, which is now in its third year.

Clic Sargent, this year's main charity, is especially dear to an Ixworth family, who were supported during the treatment received by Rory Pettitt, 11, of Chalk Lane.

Rory, who contracted Burkitt's Lymphoma, will be starting this year's bike ride event.

Cyclists will be heading out from the Abbey Gardens on routes of 15, 25, 50 and 100 miles and there will also be an event for walkers of three or six miles.
