A talented Worlington girl is the youngest cast member of a musical which hit the stage at the Theatre Royal this week.
Rachel Dawson, 14, was chosen as one of the lead dancers in a production of 42nd Street put on by the Bury St Edmunds Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society.

She won the star role with her first audition for the society in November and has been rehearsing up to four times a week ever since.

She said: "I was really happy to get the part. I'm pretty nervous about the first performance. This is the biggest production I've been in so far."

Rachel is no stranger to the stage, having performed with the Arabesque stage school, in Risby, since she was six.

A pupil at Mildenhall College of Technology, Rachel also has to juggle homework around rehearsals with the Lights Music Action stage school in Bury.

After school she hopes to study performing arts at university and dance in the West End. She also wants to use her skills to teach children how to dance.

Tickets for 42nd Street, which finishes tomorrow, are available on 01284 769505.
