Mildenhall College of Technology saw pupils match its second highest ever GCSE A*-C grade pass rate.
Of the 266 pupils sitting GCSEs,

65 per cent achieved five A*-C grades, while 90 per cent gained at least five A*-G grades.

Headteacher Terry Lewis said although this year's results did not eclipse the record pass rate last year, he was very pleased with the pupils' efforts.

There were strong improvements in science, where the percentage of students achieving A*-C grade double science reached 70 per cent. The percentage of pupils coming away with five A*-C grades including English and maths was 33 per cent, which was lower than last year but in line with the expectations of the pupils' abilities, said Mr Lewis.

Katie Foreman, of West Row, gained five A*s and five As.

"I was very, very nervous coming here. I'm just relieved that it is all over," she said.
